About Me

My name is Jo Wood. In 2014 I became a Mum for the first time, and decided after a year on maternity leave from a busy and stressful job as an events manager at the Natural History Museum in London, it was time to try something different.....and GlobeBoppers was born.  Since then I've had another baby, Ramona, and over the years GlobeBoppers has grown in to a wonderful creative community, where everyone is welcome on our weekly adventures around the world!

Originally from the Wirral, we lived in London whilst having our first baby Bobby. When we moved back the baby and toddler groups I tried at the time didn't overly excite me, and didn't act as a way to socialise and exchange valuable information about being a parent. I also struggled to find casual drop-in style classes, which was important to me as a shell-shocked & disorganised new Mum.   So I thought if I was going to settle back in to life on the Wirral I'd need to start a new group myself, something different and fresh, a place to meet and make friends, relax and have fun. I'm a big believer in being a parent doesn't mean giving up what you enjoy!

I am passionate about music, being classically trained on piano & clarinet, and having worked at the wonderful Bridgewater Hall in Manchester for 10 years. I have also been lucky enough to travel to many countries, and believe that the combination of music and culture is a really interesting topic for babies and young children to have fun and begin to discover their world.

Having been a professional events manager in a previous life I am used to creating a great experience, that's comfortable for everyone.  We all know a day out with your little one isn't always stress-free, but I will try to make your time with me relaxing, somewhere you feel at home whatever the day holds, and if all else fails we'll have a laugh about it and eat some cake.

I look forward to meeting you at a group soon, don't be shy,

drop by and say hello, there are no rules, or things you

can do wrong, so get GlobeBopping soon!
